Android M is the next major Android update over Lollipop, and it was one of the major announcements during Google I/O 2015. Though there are no significant design changes like Lollipop over KitKat but there are many other things to look forward to, For example, users now have full control on their data access permissions, new battery saving technology called Doze that stop the battery drain when phone is idle for long time. There is no official roll out date announced as of now, but it will surely going to roll out later this year says Google.
Most of the Nexus and Google smartphones are already testing the Android M as developers preview and install a developers preview means that you should be okay with the bugs and OS glitches. To our surprise unlike any other company other than Google Sony has stepped up for developers preview and made it available for few Xperia smartphones. Sony has compiled a working Rom for few Xperia smartphone and tablets also a complete guide to flash the Rom. The company says it is solely based on development purpose where in most of the parts like Camera, Modem is still non-functional meaning the OS cannot be used as a daily driver but can be used for testing out. But if you are still interesting is testing out the Rom here are compatible smartphones list and the complete guide, tools are available Here.
