Google has finally taken wraps off the all-new Nexus 6P made by Huawei just as expected. The smartphone is priced at $499 for 32GB variant, $549 for 64GB, $649 for 128GB variant, the device will be up for Pre-order from Google Play store starting tonight and ships in October, comes in Aluminum, Graphite, Frost and Gold colors(gold is limited to Japan markets). Let’s have a look at the specifications.
Huawei made Google Nexus 6P sports a 5.7-inches QHD( 2560×1440 pixels) AMOLED display with 518 PPI and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 Soc (4x 1.5GHz ARM A53 + 4 x 1.8 GHz ARM A57) Octa-Core processor with Adreno 430GPU coupled with 3GB of Ram and 32/64/128GB internal storage options. Runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
On the camera side, the Nexus 6P features a 12.3-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1.55um pixels, smart burst, 4K video and can record slow-motion videos in 240fps, while the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 1.4um pixels. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. The Nexus 6P features a USB Type-C port for fast charging. A 3,450mAh battery runs the show. The smartphone measures 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3mm and houses front-facing speakers.
Nexus Protect: Google has also introduced the Insurance add-on called as the Nexus Protect which will be valid for 2 years from the date you have purchased it. Though it is an optional purchase that will cost you US$ 69 (for LG Nexus 5X) and US$ 89 (Nexus 6P) it is recommended that you purchase it as Google says the damaged device will be replaced as early as next working day, but didn’t mention anything in case of complete wreckage. Nexus Insurance is limited to US markets for now.
