Meizu has announced the a Pro 5 smartphone at an event in Beijing, the new flagship smartphone aims to compete with the current flagship smartphones. The Pro 5 comes in gray, silver, gold, silver black colors and is priced at $440 for 3GB Ram version while the 4GB(64GB ROM) costs you $485 will go on sale on October 12th. Meizu is expected to launch the smartphone in India in the coming month. Let’s dig into the specifications of the device.
The Pro 5 smartphone sports 5.7-inches FHD(1080*1920) Super AMOLED display with 2.5D glass, the display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, though there is a bump in the screen size the display is restricted to 1080p panel. Powered by Samsung-made Exynos 7420Soc clocked at (Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) Octa-Core processor with Mali T720GPU for all graphical requirements. There is 4GB of Ram and 64GB internal storage with another variant that has 3GB of Ram and 32GB of ROM, Both these will have an SD slot for memory expansion. Pro 5 features familiar Full-Metal body construction.
On the camera side, the Pro 5 features a 21.2-megapixel Sony IMX230 Exmor RS Rear camera sensor with dual-tone LED flash, Laser autofocus, PDAF and it can record videos in 4K video resolution, there is a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5670 sensor front camera for selfies and video calls, f/2.2 aperture. Runs on Android 5.1 with Flyme U.I on top. Connectivity features include 4G LTE(TD-LTE/FDD-LTE), 3G HSPA+, Hybrid Dual SIM where the second SIM slot can either be used as secondary SIM or MicroSD card slot, WiFi 802.11ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C. A 3,050mAh battery runs the show with mCharge 2.0 technology. The mBack touch-sensitive home button offers different functions based on the touch. Also, comes with mTouch 2.1 fingerprint recognition technology for security and can also be used for features like Android Pay when rolled out.
