Xiaomi is one such company that likes to experiment on all of electronic and semi-electronic products, their recent product line-up shows that company is not just about smartphones and tablets, they have Air-Purifiers, Weighing scales, etc. But then the company don’t want to stop there and are planning to expand their portfolio by introducing Xiaomi laptops. Now this is nothing new to the rumour mill that has been in the news for a long time. Today, Richard Lee, chairman of laptop manufacturer Inventec has officially announced that they will be assembling laptop for Xiaomi, which will be shipped from the first half of 2016. Further, he stated “I am upbeat about the business outlook for Xiaomi’s notebook computers, as the firm has more than 200 million registered smartphone users”.
Though we have no details like price, specifications at the moment but from our previous experience with Xiaomi be it the ultra-affordable Redmi series or the Mi series smartphones the company has always surprised us by pricing it lower than what we were expecting, so it’s safe to expect the same during the Laptops official launch. These laptops will make their official entry in Chinese markets initially and will roll-out to other global markets including the USA directly competing with MacBook Air which is definitely not impossible gradually. Xiaomi has recently launched the Mi 4C smartphone yet again going bonkers with the price tag.
