Apple launches next iteration iMac in India with some major upgrades to the internals. The all new iMac will be available in two different variants and are priced at Rs. 91,900 and Rs. 107,900, while the iMac with 4K display starts at Rs. 1,23,900. Apple keyboard and mouse aren’t included and should be brought separately for Rs. 8,300 and Rs. 6,600 respectively. Let’s look at the specifications and what changed from previous generation.
The new iMac comes with a normal 21.5-inches display and a premium 21.5 4K(4096×2304 pixels) LED-backlit IPS display, the one with 4K display is 4.5 times sharper and better than the normal one says Apple. Powered by Intel Core i5 3.1GHz(boot up to 3.6GHz) Quad-Core processor with Iris Pro Graphics 6200 for all the gaming and graphical requirements. while the standard iMac is powered by Intel Core i5 1.6GHz(Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) Dual-Core processor with Intel HD Graphics 6000. Both these variants have 1TB hard disk coupled with faster 8GB 1867MHz LPDDR3 RAM. Features like Wi-Fi802.11ac, FaceTime HD camera, Stereo speakers, two Thunderbolt ports and four USB 3.0 ports are common on both the 4K iMac and non 4K iMac. The storage and Ram can be upgraded up to 3TB and 16GB Ram and these run on the latest OS X El Capitan.
Along with 21.5-inches iMac, Apple has also introduced the 27-inches 5K iMac they are powered by Intel Core fifth generation processor with AMD Radeon R9 graphics cards. Prices for these models are Rs.148,900, Rs. 164,900, Rs. 188,900, respectively. These iMac’s will be available via select Apple Authorized Resellers in India
