Microsoft has announced the Lumia 950 and 950XL smartphones earlier this week and during the Lumia announcements Microsoft has also introduced a brand new display dock HD-500 that will offer a PC experience right from your smartphone when connected to any external monitor the dock connects either via display port or HDMI ports and connects to phone via the USB type-C cable. While it is connected to an external display the phone also charge the phone at the same time. The Dock dock measures 25.6mm x 64.1mm, weighs 230g and offers 1080p video output.
The Microsoft Continuum Display Dock lets you take calls and messages without disturbing the main screen that is connected and also the two USB 2.0 ports lets you connect keyboard and mouse for better operation functionality. And another USB 2.0 charging port to power the dock. Microsoft has showed the demo of the Dock during the announcement and it was pretty amazing for such a small dock to impress. This display Dock will roll out during the Lumia 950 and 950XL roll out as Microsoft says the is specially made for Lumia 950 and 950XL but is an optional accessory says Microsoft. The dock will retail for $99 (excluding taxes) and cables to connect the dock will be extra apparently. considering the functionality of the Dock the pricing sure looks on the higher side
