Motorola has finally announced the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 smartphones that will be exclusively available via Verizon with 2 years contract, but you can also buy the unlocked variants also. The Droid Turbo 2 is the world’s first shatter proof display, Motorola claims the display won’t break and shatter for four years. Motorola Droid 2 comes in black Soft Grip, White Soft Grip, Grey Ballistic Nylon and Black Pebbled Leather colors and you can also use the Moto Maker feature to customize the smartphone according to your liking. Droid 2 will be available for $26 per month for two years or $624.00 off contract from Verizon while the Droid Maxx 2 will be available for $16 for two years contract or $384 off contract from Verizon. Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Specifications:
The Motorola Droid 2 Sports 5.4-inches(1440×2560 pixels) QHD AMOLED display with Moto Shattershield. The display accounts to a pixel density of 540PPI (pixels per inch) Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810Soc clocked in at 2.0GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 430GPU. There is 3GB of LPDDR4 Ram and 32/64GB internal storage with an SD card slot to expand the memory upto 2TB. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which is currently the latest version of Android and like always Motorola phones come with no bloatware but some Motorola custom-made apps like-moto assist, Display, Voice, Actions, etc. Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be upgraded to Android Marshmallow 6.0.
On the camera side, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 style features a 21-megapixel primary camera with Dual tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture while the front houses a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1.4um pixel. The primary camera is capable of recording 4K videos. A 3,760mAh battery is on board with Turbo Charging and Qi wireless charging capabilities. Motorola Droid Maxx 2 Specifications:
The device sports 5.5-inches FHD(1080*1920) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615Soc clocked at 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 405GPU. There is 2GB of Ram and 16 internal storage with an SD card slot with memory expansion upto 128GB. Runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
On the camera side, the device features a 21-megapixel autofocus primary camera with Dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detect Auto-Focus (PDAF), 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11a/g/b/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The battery on the device is massive 3,630mAh capacity. Both the new DRIODs will be available online and in stores starting October 29th.
