Oppo Brings AOSP ROM Support For Their Smartphones


Oppo has always been blamed for their poor software support as the company pushes the update slower than any other smartphone company. Most of the Oppo smartphones are still running an older version of Android which is a sad fact to digest for the Oppo users. Today’s Announcement from the company may change the way users feel about the software part of the Oppo.

Oppo has finally made an official statement that AOSP ROMS will now be made available for Oppo smartphones, AOSP Roms provide stock like user interface with some software tweaks and not to forget AOSP Roms will be made available faster than the traditional company provided an update. Though the default OS will be ColorOS, AOSP Roms will be available as an additional option for users who want to try the Updated Android version. This new will be a rejoice to Oppo smartphone users and can also lure the buyers in future.

Oppo Find 7 is said to be the first smartphone to receive AOPS Rom based on Android 5.1.1 and the update is expected to roll out this month end, R5 and R5s will be the next one’s to get the ROM. Android M based AOPS Rom for Find 7 will be available to flash in early 2016. Though it is an AOSP Rom the company is making sure, it will make features like screen-off/screen-on gestures, Pure Image, MaxxAudio, DiracHD etc are still available.
