Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Smartphones Launched in India


Sony has announced the Xperia Z5 flagship smartphones back during IFA 2015 at berlin and Z5 premium is the world’s first smartphone to comes with a 4K display and a powerful snapdragon 810 chipset onboard. The company has finally brought them to the Indian market today, The Z5 premium the one with 4K display is priced at Rs. 62,990 in India and will be available from November 7th while the regular Z5  is priced at Rs. 52,990 in India and will be available from October 23rd. Let’s have a look at the specifications of Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Specifications: 

The smartphone sports a massive 5.5-inches TRILUMINOS display with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution(4K display) resulting into a pixel density of whopping 806 PPI just so you know this is the world’s first smartphone to feature a 4K display probably. On top of that Sony is also including X-reality display Engine which makes the display top-notch.With the 4K display on board, you can play YouTube videos directly in 4K resolution and can play video stored in local SD card. Enough with the display lets come to Internals, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s snapdragon 810Soc with Octa-Core processor coupled with 3GB of Ram and 32GB internal storage but the storage can be expanded up to 200GB via an SD card.

Talking about the camera, the premium Z5 features a 23-megapixel 1/2.3 Exmor RS sensor with F2.0 G lens primary camera. The rear camera can focus in under 0.03sec which is faster than a blink of a human eye according to the Company. The front houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera and the company claims to have improved the picture quality over previous gen Z smartphones. The device comes with IPX 5 / IPX 8 rating which protects the smartphone from dust and has waterproof protection. Connectivity features like 4G LTE, Dual SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth are obviously built-in. The interesting thing about the smartphone is the 3,430mAh battery about how it will perform with a 4K display onboard, but the phablet comes with Qualcomm’s Quick charging 2.0. Running on Android 5.1.1 with Xperia skin overlayed on top. The power button comes equipped with Fingerprint sensor making the power button bigger than usual.

The Xperia Z5 sports 5.2-inches FHD(1920*1080) Triluminos Display accounting to a pixel density at 424 PPI. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810Soc Octa-Core processor with Adreno 430 GPU. There is  3GB of Ram and 32GB of internal memory with an SD card slot for memory expansion up to 200GB. Runs on Android 5.1.1 with Xperia U.I overlayed.


On the camera department, the device features a 23-megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 sensor, can record in 4K clarity. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The power buttons also act like a Fingerprint sensor, The IPX5/ IPX8 rated for dust and water resistance with capless USB. Connectivity features include 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b /g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS.  The 2,900mAh battery supports Qualcomm Quick charging 2.0. The Pricing for the Xperia Z5 is Rs.52,000 which seems quite high.
