Xiaomi has introduced the Mi TV 3 at an event in Chian today, the TV features a 4K display which is actually made by LG with 11.6mm thick with aluminum alloy frame and it is 36.7mm at its thickest. The TV 3 is priced at 4999 Chinese Yuan or $786. Along with TV 3, Xiaomi has also introduced a 6.5-inches mini Subwoofer which is connected via wire and has Bluetooth connectivity and this woofer is priced at $16 and a Bluetooth voice remote control with 6-axis sensor for $16. No details on the availability mentioned for now.
The TV 3 sports a 60-inches 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) display with 178-degree viewing angle and 85% NTSC color gamut. Powered by MStar 6A928 Cortex-A17 clocked at 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor with Mali-760 MP4 GPU. There is 2GB of DDR3 triple-channel RAM and 8GB internal storage. The TV 3 runs on MiUi TV based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Connectivity features include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, 3 HDMI 3.0 ports, Mi Cable, VGA, 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 ports and an Ethernet slot are on board. The TV 3 supports H.265 1080P at 60 frames per seconds(fps), H.263 1080P at 30 fps and may formats at 1080p clarity. The TV 3 comes with Aluminium build speaker set and 6 speaker soundbars with 2 mini tweeters, 4*2.5-inches woofers for better audio experience, the TV 3 supports Dolby MS12 Virtual Surround Sound and Bass Boost.
The company says that 70% of the TV 3 cost is for the display while the motherboard costs 20%, Xiaomi has also mentioned that the motherboard can be replaced every 18-months which is incredible. Stay tuned for more details on availability and launch.
