Telefónica in partnership with BQ and Cyanogen Inc. has introduced the Aquaris X5 smartphone in Europe. The Aquaris X5 smartphone will be available in Spain starting from today, but it will only be available in Germany and rest of Europe in the coming weeks. The company says that it will bring the smartphone all over the world where it operates in 2016. Priced at 209 Euros or US$ 225.

The Aquaris X5 sports a 5-inch HD(1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display that has Asahi Dragontrail glass protection. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 412 Soc clocked at 1.4 GHz Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. The device runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) based Cyanogen OS 12.1
On the camera side, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and it can record 1080p videos. While on the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB OTG is also supported. There is a 2900 mAh battery for all battery needs.
BQ has already entered the Indian markets with an Ubuntu OS powered AQUARIS E4.5 AND AQUARIS E5 smartphones in India and now we hope that BQ will bring the CyanogenOS powered X5 to India.
