Asus had a good run in 2015 with over 20 million smartphones sold by the company as per the early sources and now we are hearing reports that say the company is planing to launch the Zenfone 3 series smartphones in may 2016 and the new Zenfone 3 is expected to feature a Fingerprint sensor on board. The company might adopt the fingerprint recognition solutions developed by Taiwan-based Elan Microelectronics and China-based Goodix, Zenfone 3 is the first smartphone from Asus to feature a Fingerprint sensor. Asus Zenfone 3 might feature a Qualcomm chipset this time.
We have seen most of the smartphone companies adopting the Fingerprint sensor even for their mid-range smartphones and we expect the same deal to continue in 2016 as well. The company had a good run in markets like Southeast Asia, India, Brazil, Russia and Taiwan this year and is aiming to up the sale by selling 30 million units in 2016. Asus is planning to expand its business with countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Egypt and Nigeria.
