Xiaomi India and Amazon have teased a new secret product for some time now while we, at first, thought the product would be Redmi Note 2 prime, but we stand corrected as the company today announced the enhanced better yet upgraded Redmi Note Prime 4G which is second Xiaomi device that is being assembled in Sri City, India. The device is priced at Rs.8,499 and is said to be available from December 15th via Amazon.in and Mi.com/in store from 10:00 AM. Let’s look at the specification of the Redmi Note Prime.

Redmi Note Prime Specifications:

The device sports a similar 5.5-inches HD(1280*720) IPS display with pixel density accounting to 267 PPI. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410Soc clocked at 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor along with Adreno 306 GPU for graphical use. There is 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage with an SD card for memory expansion of up to 32GB. The device still runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Miui 7 overlayed on top. We are still not sure why Xiaomi is sticking with KitKat.

On the camera side, there is a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Dual SIM while the 4G is limited to first SIM, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. A 3,100mAh battery is on board. We still feel the Redmi Note Prime is still far behind the competition with age Old OS, a 720p Display. What do you guys think? Let us know.
