Motorola brand is now no longer in existence, although Motorola didn’t use its branding since Moto X 2014. Lenovo has already announced that it will use the Moto branding for high-end smartphones whereas the Vibe for the budget segment, so being a high-end series Lenovo has decided to throw in Fingerprint sensors on all Moto devices that will be launching this year, 2016.
Chen Xudong, SVP of Lenovo and President for Lenovo China and Asia-Pacific briefed his plans for both moto and vibe brands, as said above the company will focus on the low-end budget segment that will launch in 2016. The smartphones under the Moto brand will have 5-inches or more display size which either means that Lenovo might kill the Moto E series or re-brand it under Vibe series.
He also mentioned that Google will make its re-entry in China which will also introduce the Playstore application that will give tough competition to the current app stores. This is the first time Motorola/Lenovo including the fingerprint scanner on a Moto series smartphones. Stay tuned for more news on the same.
