Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the most anticipated and most rumored device in the past month or so, till yesterday no one had an idea on when the company will launch the device except that it will be somewhere in February. Today the company’s VP Liwan Jiang has officially posted an image on Weibo that will showcase the launch date of the most awaited flagship device.
The company will finally introduce the smartphone on February 24th and besides confirming the launch date, Mr. Liwan Jiang has also made it clear that the device is already in mass production and the company will have enough stocks at the time of the launch. The device will see the official at the Spring conference on February 24th, wherein we might also get to know the future plans of the company. According to the latest rumors, there will be a premium model along with the original Mi 5 that will feature full metal body and a 2K display.
Mi 5 is Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 Chipset clocked at 2.5Ghz Octa-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. The device sports a 5.5-inches QHD (1440×2560) display that should probably have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and with 4GB LP-DDR4 Ram.
There is 4GB of Ram and will most probably be available in different storage options depending on the markets, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and the 128GB storage options. The device might run on Android 6.0 but there is chance of it still running Android 5.1 Lollipop with Miui 7 overlaid on top.
Other specifications include a 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. A massive 3,800mAh battery on board which should support theQualcomm Quick Charging 3.0. Professional Hi-Fi system” speakers embedded in the phone.
