HP Elite X3 Powered by Windows 10, Snapdragon 820Soc Officially Unveiled

HP Elite X3 smartphone officially introduced at the MWC 2016 event after it was leaked, rumored, leaked for quite some time, the Elite X3 is first Windows 10 powered device that is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset on board, it also packs in 4GB of Ram and a massive 5.96-inches Quad HD display which should have trouble with one handed usage. The company hasn’t mentioned the pricing and official roll out a timeline, for now, stay tuned for that. Now let’s check out the specifications of the HP Elite X3 in detail.

The HP Elite X3 sports a massive 5.96-inches Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) AMOLED Display that is being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820Soc Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal memory with a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion up to 2TB. The HP Elite X3 runs on Windows 10 mobile  right out of the box.

In the camera department, the HP Elite X3  features a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and it can record Full HD 1080 videos. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera which should be perfect for selfies and video chats and the front camera can also record Full HD 1080p videos, it can also work as an Iris scanner. The device has IP67 certification meaning it is dust and water-resistant, and it also has that MIL-STD-810 rating which in real-time means that you can drop the phone from up to 1 meter without damaging it. Connectivity features include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, Dual SIM depending on the region. A 4150mAh nonremovable Battery on board that has the support for quick charging.

The HP Elite X3 also supports the Windows 10 Continuum feature which Microsoft demoed back during the Lumia event; HP has also introduced the Desk Dock and Mobile Extender. The Desk Dock will allow you to connect the phone to external display whereas the Mobile Extender will extend the X3 device capabilities to an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Stay tuned for more such coverage.
