Xiaomi Mi 5 Powered by Snapdragon 820, 4GB Ram Announced

Probably the most awaited also the most anticipated smartphone in the recent times; the Xiaomi Mi 5 is now finally official after so numerous leaks, reports and what not proving some of them wrong and some falling in line, Xiaomi has let go of the Mi 5 today. The device comes with 5.15-inches solid 1080p display and is powered by the Qualcomm’s flagship chipset; the Snapdragon 820Soc coupled with 4GB of Ram and a massive 128GB internal storage for the high-end model, the company has also introduced the trim down variant with 3gigs of Ram and 32GB storage. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available in Black, White, Gold and Rose colors and the 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 model with 3GB Ram+64GB storage variant is priced at $306 or Rs.20,969 approx, the same model with 3GB Ram and 64GB Rom is priced at $351 or Rs. 24,092 approx. The 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820Soc with 4GB Ram+128GB Rom high-end model is priced at $413 or Rs.28,312 approx. The Mi 5 will go on for sale starting from March 1st in China via Mi.com but, we have no info on the Indian launch for now. Let’s look at the specifications of the Mi 5 in detail.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Specifications:

The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.15-inches Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with curved glass that gives it a premium look. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU for intense gaming, it packs in 3GB of Ram 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage for the base model while the high-end model packs a 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi 5 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s MiUi 7.0 overlaid on top.

Talking about the camera, the xiaomi Mi 5 rocks a 16-megapixel rear Sony IMX298 camera sensor with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization, and it can record 4K videos. On the front, we have a 4-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The device features a Fingerprint scanner for better security and an Infrared sensor to control electronic devices.  Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port for fast data transfers. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. We are still waiting for the Indian launch info, stay tuned.
