Lenovo Rolling Out Marshmallow Update For K3 Note in India With TheaterMax support

Lenovo has started rolling out Android 6.0 marshmallow update for K3 Note smartphone in India. The Official OTA update brings support for TheaterMax VR experience that was seen on Vibe K4 Note, Vibe X3 and Vibe K5 Plus smartphones earlier. The Lenovo Vibe K3 Note was launched in India last year running Android 5.0 and with the official 6.0 Marshmallow update, Lenovo has skipped the 5.1 Lollipop update.

It looks like Lenovo has pushed the update earlier than the expected date, according to the Upgrade Matrix the Marshmallow update for K3 Note was scheduled to roll out in April 2016. The upgrade matrix doesn’t explicitly confirm the update schedule for Lenovo A7000, A7000 Plus, Vibe K4 Note, Vibe X3 and few other Lenovo smartphone but it should be pushing the 6.0 update sometime this year. Android 6.0 brings in support for App permission, Doze mode to save battery by killing the background apps when the phone is kept idle for some time, Now-On Tap now cards for instant information and many more. Though we are yet to find out the changes brought to Vibe U.I with Marshmallow update and what are the new additions that Lenovo has included.

The OTA update for K3 Note is around 1.61GB in size including the security patch for March. Now if you are having any problems in downloading the update or if you haven’t got the OTA update you can manually download the update file from Here and flash it via Recovery, kindly proceed with flashing manually only if you are aware of such things.
